Denture Repairs & Relines in Portland, Oregon

Broken Denture? Loose Denture? Let’s See If We Can Fix It.

Dentures live a pretty hard life.

They’re used every day, dropped occasionally, chewed with constantly—and your mouth naturally changes over time.

So when something breaks or suddenly doesn’t fit the way it used to, don’t automatically assume you need a whole new denture.

The Denture Studio provides professional denture repairs, denture relines and denture adjustments for patients throughout Portland and the Portland Metro, with many repairs completed the same day in our on-site denture lab.

What’s Going On With Your Denture?

Sometimes you know exactly what’s wrong.

Other times you just know:

“This thing doesn’t fit like it used to.”

That’s enough information to start.

My Denture Broke

Cracked or broken denture bases can often be professionally repaired instead of immediately replacing the entire denture.

A Tooth Came Out

Missing or damaged denture teeth may be repairable depending on the condition of the appliance.

My Denture Is Loose

Your mouth can change over time. A denture reline may help re-establish the tissue-side fit of an otherwise serviceable denture.

It’s Rubbing or Hurting

Don’t spend months trying to “get used to it.” A professional evaluation can help determine whether an adjustment, reline, repair or replacement makes sense.

Not sure which one you need?

Good.

That’s our job.

What’s the Difference Between a Denture Repair and a Reline?

Denture Repair

Think:

Something broke.

A denture repair addresses physical damage to the appliance.

That may include situations involving:

  • A cracked denture
  • Broken denture base
  • Missing denture tooth
  • Damaged denture
  • Other repairable physical problems

The Denture Studio specifically provides repairs for broken denture bases and missing teeth, with repairs often completed the same day.

Denture Reline

Think:

It isn’t broken. It just doesn’t fit anymore.

A denture reline changes the tissue-fitting surface of your existing denture to help re-establish its fit against your mouth.

The Denture Studio recommends complete-denture relines approximately every 2–3 years to help maintain fit, comfort and stability.

Broken = Repair|Loose = Maybe a Reline

And sometimes the answer is neither—which is why we look at the denture before recommending treatment.

Same Day

Same Day

Yes, We Offer Same-Day Denture Repairs.

Breaking a denture is annoying enough.

Being told you need to spend days without it isn’t exactly the news anybody wants to hear.

The Denture Studio provides same-day repair service for broken denture bases and missing denture teeth, whenever the condition of the denture allows it.

And because we have an on-site denture laboratory, your denture doesn’t automatically need to disappear into a box and get shipped somewhere else just to find out what’s wrong.

We work on dentures right here.

Broken this morning?

Call us.

Dropped it in the bathroom?

Yep. Call us.

Tooth popped out?

Definitely call us.

Tried fixing it yourself with whatever you found in the garage?

Well…

Bring that in too. 😂

Your Denture Doesn’t Leave Town to Get Worked On.

One of the advantages of working with The Denture Studio is simple:

We have our own denture lab on location.

Your denture can be evaluated, repaired, adjusted and relined right here, rather than automatically being sent to an outside laboratory.

That also means we’re able to stay personally involved with the work being done to your appliance.

The same practice that’s listening to what’s bothering you is directly connected to the laboratory work needed to address it.

That’s how denture care should work.

Dentures are designed, fabricated, fitted, adjusted and repaired through The Denture Studio’s on-site denture laboratory.

Loose Dentures Don’t Always Mean New Dentures.

This is an important distinction.

Your mouth isn’t frozen in time.

The tissues supporting your denture can change, which means a denture that once fit comfortably may eventually begin feeling loose or less stable.

A denture reline modifies the tissue-facing surface of the denture to help restore its relationship with your mouth.

Relining re-establishes tissue-side fit and function, and The Denture Studio recommends relines for complete dentures approximately every 2–3 years.

If the rest of your denture is still in good condition, relining may make more sense than replacing the entire appliance.

Your denture may be telling you it’s time if:

  • It moves more than it used to.
  • Food is getting underneath it.
  • You’re developing irritation or sore spots.
  • You’re using more adhesive.
  • It feels different when you chew.
  • It simply doesn’t feel as secure anymore.

Pick Up

A minimum of approximately six hours for a full or partial reline.

How Long Does a Denture Reline Take?

Here’s some good news.

The Denture Studio currently lists full and partial denture relines as a same-day service, requiring a minimum of approximately six hours.

That means you generally don’t have to plan on being separated from your denture for days while it’s shipped to an outside laboratory.

We’ll explain your particular appointment and timing when you schedule.

Can I Fix My Broken Denture Myself?

We understand the temptation.

Your denture breaks at the worst possible time, you see the two pieces sitting there and think:

“I can fix that.”

Please resist the urge to turn your kitchen counter into a denture laboratory.

A DIY repair can make professional repair more difficult and could alter how the pieces fit together.

Instead, keep all the pieces you can find and call us.

Even if it looks completely broken, let us see it before assuming it’s done for.

And if you already tried fixing it yourself?

We’re not going to yell at you. 😂

Just bring it with you.

Do I Need My Denture Repaired—or Is It Time for a New One?

Sometimes repairing an older denture simply isn’t the best long-term investment.

We’ll look at the overall condition, fit, wear and damage before recommending what makes sense.

Repair

If the denture is otherwise serviceable and has a repairable problem?

Repair may make sense.

Reline

If it’s structurally okay but doesn’t fit properly?

A reline may make sense.

Adjust

If there’s a localized fit issue?

An adjustment may help.

Replace

And if the appliance is heavily worn, repeatedly breaking, no longer fits properly or has other significant problems?

Then it may be time to discuss a replacement denture.

Our goal isn’t automatically:

“Sell you another denture.”

It’s:

“Figure out what actually makes sense for this denture and this patient.”

Denture Repair & Reline Questions

Often, yes. The Denture Studio lists repairs to broken denture bases and missing teeth as a same-day service. Whether your particular denture can be repaired depends on the type and extent of the damage, so call us and explain what happened.

The Denture Studio lists both full and partial relines as same-day services requiring a minimum of approximately six hours. We’ll give you specific appointment and pickup information when your reline is scheduled.

Loose fit, increased movement, food getting underneath the denture or changes in comfort can all be reasons to have the fit evaluated. The Denture Studio generally recommends complete-denture relines approximately every 2–3 years to maintain fit and stability.

Missing denture teeth are specifically among the repairs The Denture Studio performs, often with same-day service. Bring the denture—and the tooth or any broken pieces you still have—with you so we can evaluate it.

That depends on the condition of the entire denture. A repair or reline can make sense when the appliance is otherwise serviceable. If it’s significantly worn, poorly fitting or repeatedly breaking, replacement may be the better long-term solution. We’ll evaluate what you have before recommending which direction makes sense.

The Denture Studio provides same-day denture repair services from its on-site laboratory at 21511 SE Stark Street in Gresham, serving patients throughout Portland, Gresham and the surrounding Portland Metro. Call (503) 666-1698 before coming in so we can discuss the damage and scheduling.
